My Background and Approach
Hi, I’m Claire — a BACP registered therapist with a Postgraduate Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Counselling and Psychotherapy. I’ve worked in NHS, community healthcare, and private practice settings.
I offer a calm, supportive space where you can talk openly about your thoughts, feelings, and experiences, and we can work together towards the changes you’d like to make. My main approach is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), using proven techniques to help you understand patterns and develop tools that you can continue to use.
Therapy isn’t one-size-fits-all. I enjoy getting to know each client as an individual and integrate person-centred, compassion-focused, narrative, creative, and mindfulness-based approaches, to suit your individual personality and needs.
I aim to provide therapy in an affirming, inclusive way, guided by social and structural understandings of inequality, and always respectful of each person’s lived experience. Everything is confidential, and I work with a highly experienced clinical supervisor to ensure our work is ethical, effective, and focused on your wellbeing.
You can choose short- or longer-term sessions, and there’s space to go at your own pace as we build practical strategies to help you move forward in ways that feel meaningful and manageable.
My online via video call (Zoom) keeps sessions more affordable and accessible, and gives you maximum flexibility to access support from wherever you feel most comfortable.
I am now also taking bookings for in-person sessions, from Vessel Therapy Rooms on Park Street in central Bristol.
